Hear the Symphony

Hear the Symphony

“My soul is a hidden orchestra; I know not what instruments, what fiddle-strings and harps, drums and tambura I sound and clash inside myself. All I hear is the symphony.”

― Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet

Inside each of us plays a music no one else can hear. A symphony composed of moments,

 memories, longings, instincts, and dreams.

In essence, we are, hidden orchestras. Which defines us complex, untamed, and always playing.

We often try to define ourselves with neat labels. "I am calm." "I am a feeler." "I am a thinker."

But we are all of it- plucking strings of urgency the next. Our emotional lives, our intuitions,

our strange and wild inner shifts are not contradictions- they are the ensemble.

And maybe that is the grace of being human: not knowing which part of us is playing,

but still moving to the music sometimes we tremble under a high note that seems too sharp,

and sometimes, without warning, we soar.

In your symphony there is you.

You don't have to know the name of every note your soul plays. You don't need to listen- to honor the music, however unpredictable, however mysterious.

Even if it doesn't make sense.

Even if it no one else hears it.

Even if it's only yours.
